KNOW YOUR MATERIAL

Solid hardwood or engineered wood?

Solid hardwood is made from natural timber. With suitable construction and care, many solid timber surfaces can be repaired or refinished. Engineered wood products such as MDF and veneer-faced panels serve different design, cost and performance needs. Neither category alone guarantees quality.

Wood is a natural material. Grain variations, colour changes and seasonal movement are part of its character. Species, drying, joinery, climate and protective finish all influence long-term performance.

Good to know
Will natural wood change colour?

Yes. Natural light, oxidation and finishes can change colour gradually. Position and care furniture consistently to encourage even ageing.

Can I choose a custom stain?

Many designs can be finished in a customised tone, subject to timber species and approved samples. Stain changes appearance but not the underlying grain.

What timber is suitable outdoors?

Teak is a common choice for suitable outdoor designs. Outdoor performance also requires appropriate construction, fittings, finishes and maintenance.

How should I maintain solid timber?

Wipe spills promptly, avoid prolonged heat or moisture exposure, use coasters, and follow the specific care instructions for your finish.
